I am from Ormalingen, Switzerland, and study since eight years in the United States. I am interested in environmental sciences with a focus in biogeochemistry. I chose to study in America because US Universities offer opportunities to focus on my interests more intensively. The main reason to attend Oregon State University was the Professional Science Mater’s Degree (PSM) program. PSM is an interdisciplinary program offering a comprehensive and balanced curriculum by combining all: scientific theory, applied science skills, business management, ethics, decision-making, team-building, and communication skills.
I am interested in applied science and how to transfer this knowledge to all stakeholders concerning world wide environmental problems such as soil erosion, soil organic matter, soil desertification, soil salinity, and soil acidification. Most importantly, I am interested in sustainable agriculture and food production systems.
